"Heather's Grandpa"
POSTED AND PHOTOS BY HEATHER
For the past two days I got to honor my grandpa, Rodger Jensen, and all of his flight crew members from WWII. This is a reunion that they have once a year but sadly this will be the last one. The 315th Bomb Wing has a very important place in history - they flew the last and longest mission of WWII. There are times in my life that I will never forget. Going to the WWII memorial with my Grandpa for the first time is one of them. I can’t imagine what he was feeling at that moment but I could see in his eyes the honor, the memories, and the thankfulness for his life since then. My grandpa has always been the person that I look up to and admire. I have always been amazed at his honor and his integrity. I guess that is why I believe in John so much, because I see those same characteristics that come only from serving something greater than yourself.

The World War II Memorial on the National Mall in DC.

Every panel is inspiring.

Grandpa Jensen seeing the WWII Memorial for the first time.

I can't imagine what was going through his head.

There were several veterans walking around wearing these t-shirts.

A quiet moment in the shade.

"Photo Gallery Introduction"
POSTED AND PHOTOS BY HEATHER
Over the past seven months, I have taken thousands of photographs on the campaign trail. Some reveal historical moments, some show the love between Meghan and her mom and dad, and some show the unique relationships that have developed over time. Over the next couple of weeks, I will post a selection of my favorite photos and explain their special meaning to me. Additionally, we are creating a photo gallery section of the site that will address different photography-related issues and answer some of the questions about my work. For now, I hope you will enjoy this first installment of my personal favorites.

This button salesman was sleeping on the job. He was mortified when he woke up and realized I had taken this picture. I also got a kick out of the fact that the Ron Paul fans had gathered around him while he slept.

These two men are my favorite McCain fans. They came very prepared and waited a long time to get John's (he insists that we all call him by his first name) autograph. I helped them out because they were so sweet and animated. And, they got their autographs!

He always amazes us with his endless energy. While everyone else is sleeping he is still busy at work.

I love this image of John looking at himself as a young man. I can't help but wonder what is going through his head at this moment.

He just looks so happy and relaxed here. He loves talking about issues that are close to him.

I love how John is looking at Cindy in this photo.

John and Meghan sharing a moment over an art book.

I was almost trampled to death when I took this picture.

He had so much fun at the MTV Forum.

This could be my favorite picture of him.
