As we get back on the road following the holiday weekend, we thought it would be a good time to pick out some of the best comments from May. Thanks to everyone for their kind words and support!
Ryan from Dublin, California writes:
I just stumbled onto your site, and what an amazing site it is. I am a 24 year old country boy from California, I know hard to believe. I am glad that you and your friends are taking the time to produce these blogs. In a time when people are disgruntled with poltics and the world, your blog gives me security. People only have to read and watch your blogs for a short time to realize that you and your family are normal every day people. Its great to see that you can bring back some humanity to politics that has been absent for some time. Keep up the great work! Another thing its great to see a lady in the spot light that is actually content with herself! In reference to the "Inner Beauty" Blog.
Lauren from Brookhaven, Mississippi writes:
I absolutely love the McCain blogette! It's really interesting to see what y'all are up to everyday on the campaign trail... and how adorable y'all are all the time even though travelling must be so tiring. You McCain's are amazing! Best of luck! Go McCain!!!
Donna from Jacksonville, Illinois wrote:
I have pretty much been a Democrat all my life (my sister went to high school with Hillary) but between your blog, the article about your mother in Vogue, (not to mention the serious issues!) I am now supporting your dad. Love the Starbucks stop!
Jarod from Minneapolis, Minnesota writes:
I just discovered your blog, and its fantastic! I'm a registered democrat, but am unhappy with how this thing is turning out. Your blog gives great insight, and I just might have to cast my ballot for your father in the Fall.
Jimmy from Chicago, Illinois wrote:
I really like this blog a lot and I think that more people should be reading this because this really gives the real perspective of who John McCain is. I used to work at the White House and have been involved in politics for a while and I think that this is a great idea - not only can you get more young people involved but you're giving a real perspective.
Flavia from Campinas / SP - BRAZIL writes:
I'm from Brazil and I love your blog! Hope your father will be the next president, it would be so much better for Brazil and South America. You're adorable! And your mother? What a classy woman! Good luck and take care!
Meshell from Turlock, California wrote:
I have set your blog as one of my home pages for my work computer. I look forward every morning to see if you have a new post! Keep up the good work!
Tripp from Arlington, Virginia writes:
I have to confess, I loved the video of a week or so ago on your sister -- the "L'il Peanut" video. One of the great charities in New York is on facial reconstruction; their work and their benefits are always amazing... and I was laughing at the "beach scene" at the end of the video, by the way. Hilarious.
Brad from Del City, Oklahoma wrote:
Your blog is great. It seems very real and free of garbage... your dad is a great American hero and will be our next president. You obviously are a tremendous young lady and very beneficial to his campaign. Good luck Meghan!
Rodolfo from New York writes:
Meghan, congratulations for your artistic effort to keep us informed about John McCain's presidential campaign. I do believe your father has the best economic solutions for our economy.
Megan from Casco, Michigan wrote:
I think that what you are doing for your dad is awsome. My mom is a huge fan of his work. I'm only 14 but I think that your dad will be the best president in the whole world.
Diane from Tallahassee, Florida writes:
Go girl! Meghan, this is a tremendous blog. You have done something others would never have thought of. This is a great way to share information and involve so many in your dad's campaign.
I'm proud to be a volunteer and thrilled you are so smart!
Austin from Henderson, Nevada wrote:
I just wanted to tell you what a geat job you are doing with your blog. I am currently an E-6 in the Air Force and am truly inspired by what Senator McCain has accomplished. I have followed his achievements for the last 10 years and believe he is one of the greatest men in our country. With that being said I love how down to earth your blog is and plan to keep checking it out in the future. Keep up the great work girls!
Gerald from Lincoln, Nebraska writes:
Your Pop is blessed to have such a daughter as you, Meghan! My daughter, about your age, is my greatest cheerleader, just as you are for your dad. This says volumes about John McCain. A man with such a loving, supportive family can conquer mountains. And, he is! LCDR McCain and I were in the same Carrier Air Group (CAG)in '67. I was working the flight deck the day he launched his A-4 and ended up in the Hanoi Hilton for his six years of torture. ...I have the highest respect for him and for his tenacity... God bless him... and his family... and you, Meghan. Keep up the good work!
Alycia from Flower Mound, Texas wrote:
I am constantly on your site. I have started up my own blog and created a link from mine to yours. I love getting on to write and being able to check your blog out too. Thank you for inspiring me to blog. It is my new found love and a great release when you have so much on your mind. THANK YOU!
Dave from Herndon, Virginia wrote:
I love your blog. ...when your Dad is elected, your Mom and you will officially be the hottest First Lady and First Daughter in the history of America.
Olesja from Lexington, Kentucky writes:
I recently read an article about your mom in Vogue magazine. I was very impressed with your mother. She is a truly strong woman who has a heart as big as this country. That Vogue article really made me realize how down-to-earth your whole family is. I have enjoyed your blog a lot. I hope you keep up what you are doing and make your parents very proud.
Bill from Durham, New Hampshire wrote:
Love the blog. I seriously read it everyday while sitting in my mass media class. I am graduating from UNH with a degree in political science and your blog is the only one worth reading. Keep up the good work, and you can count on me to deliver a win for your father in New Hampshire this November.
Janet from Brecksville, Ohio writes:
WOW, seeing your Dad at the wall of current Cuban POWs was so poignant. Only he amongst us could truly empathize and feel their emotional and physical pain. A truly remarkable visit for him on a personal level... Thank you for taking a photo of your Dad's journey towards the White House.
Eleanore from Washington, DC writes:
I work in Washington and we all love to look at this site. It looks like your trip to Meridian was successful and fun! I have to say that the reason I'm writing today is because your dad was HILARIOUS on SNL. I'm so glad to see the witty side of him - I was laughing hysterically...
Cait from New Orleans, Lousiana wrote:
What a GREAT blog, and what a smart way to reach out to a younger voting base! I'm in my late twenties, but my late dad was a Vietnam vet (an Air Force fighter pilot) who sometimes had difficulty finding ways to relate to me or to my peer group. You're a credit to your father's campaign, and I've known for some time that out of all the candidates (I'm a moderate who doesn't want to affiliate myself with a party), John McCain would have my vote.

The campaign is taking a break this weekend. So while we're off for a few days, here's another installment of viewer mail. We'll be back on the trail Monday!
Another thing its great to see a lady in the spot light that is actually content with herself! In reference to the "Inner Beauty" Blog.
Gail from Hesperia, California writes:
Dear Meghan: First, I'd like to congratulate your parents for raising such a fine young woman! You are exactly what the young people of today need as a role model - someone more than fine with who she is- (a young woman with genuine class), what she does, and where she's been. That is commendable, and not all young people turn out as well. You're awesome!
Garrett from Oxford, Mississippi writes:
Meghan, This longtime member of the McCain-Train just received his copy of the April issue of GQ... the article was quite endearing and I even caught myself laughing out loud once or twice. It's obvious that your dad's frank nature has rubbed off on you... Either way, good luck with the rest of the campaign and keep up the great work!
Jennifer from Grand Blanc, Michigan writes:
I don't read very many blogs, but I must say I loved yours. Thanks for a very refreshing inside look at the political process. Good Luck to your dad and blessings to you and your family!
Julie from West Palm Beach, Florida writes:
Hey... I just found out about this site when I was on AOL earlier and I gotta say, I love. I'm completely addicted to reading your entries. =) Thanks for updating us on the campaign trail.
Annie from Pennfield, Michigan writes:
I LOVE your blog! One of the highlights of my day is to come read your blog
Heidi from High Point, North Carolina writes:
What a lovely discovery! I only wish I would have found this sooner. I have genuinely enjoyed scrolling back through the blog. I have a new appreciation for your father; he reminds me a lot of mine. This blog is such a refreshing take on the campaign. Need I even mention how much I LOVE the playlists and your taste in shoes?
Maggie from Raleigh, North Carolina writes:
Hey Girl, I just started reading your blog today and i absolutely love it. My twin sister and I are huge supporters of McCain and debate anyone who disagrees any chance we get.. which is alot in college. But I think what you are doing is great and I hope the best for you and your family! You're a great role-model for girls and a great asset to your fathers team!
Jason from Columbia, Maryland writes:
Your site is brilliant!! I love the unofficial coverage and the tone of your format. Good luck on the trail and with your career after your Dad moves into the big house down the street on Penn Ave!!
Brian from Peoria, Illinois writes:
Meghan, I love your blog. I did not like your father at first, but as time has gone on, I see the benefits of his campaign. A lot of the pictures I saw of him before your blog looked cold. You have done a great job of showing the softer side of your father and your family. This blog will be priceless for people like me who were speculative to get excited about the idea of having such a great family in the White House. Also, I wanted to let you know that you are a very beautiful woman and you make a great spokesperson for women who do not conform to the size 0 expectations of society. Anyone with a brain can see you will be the most beautiful first daughter ever to grace the white house :)
Dave from Hudson, New Hampshire writes:
Bless you, child! You put up a BEAUTIFUL web/blog site! I'm very impressed! I hope and pray that your dad is our next Commander-in-Chief! God Bless!
Kajsa from Camden, Ohio writes:
I just found your blog and am loving it! It's nice to see everything with out the negativity we see in the media. Keep up the great work!!! God Bless!
Julie from Ocala, Florida writes:
Hi Meghan, My entire family and I support your Dad and PRAY that he wins!!! . I love how you are supporting him, it really does show what a good father he's been to have a daughter who loves him and supports him so much. KEEP GOING MCCAINS! WE ARE ALL BEHIND YOU!
Slaven from Switzerland writes:
Congratulation, this is a great site... Greetings from Switzerland
Brei from Lafayette, Louisiana writes:
I read a news article about your blog and I thought I should check it out. I LOVE IT! I feel like I am reading something one of my friends would write. Thank you for the insight about your family. I think y'all would make a great first family. Keep up the good work. I am addicted now. P.S. That sucks your heels keep breaking off. I HATE when that happens!
Rich from Cincinnati, Ohio writes:
Just found your blog and it puts a very human face to the campaign and those holding on for the ride. I'm glad you are involved and participating -- great job. I'm looking forward to your updates. (video clips are great BTW)
Erin from Fort Bragg, North Carolina writes:
Great job ladies! As a former congressional aide it is so nice to see our politicians as real people instead of this larger than life type of role the media portrays. And from a military spouse standpoint whose husband is currently serving his 2nd tour in Iraq I believe in your father and his ability to lead our military and the country to greatness at home and abroad. Best wishes!
Amelia from Indianapolis, Indiana writes:
I feel compelled to say how much I enjoy this blog! You're quite an inspiration and I hope to share this blog with my young nieces, to help them see that politics isn't just all nastiness and name calling. I also want to say how much I enjoyed your entry on body-image, and how beautifully it was written. Keep up the good work! I'm voting for your father in November!!!
John from Hingham, Massachusetts writes:
I'm so glad you've developed this site and content. This type of electronic access and communication is so important in today's elections. It is because of your father that I left the Democratic Party. I'm registered as an Independent now, and my views have moderated over my 61 years - I guess I'm a moderate conservative now, where I was very liberal years ago. Maybe age does bring wisdom, and the realization that we as Americans have something to lose if we don't make the correct choices in our leaders. So, I'm at my desk having my morning coffee (wearing my McCain campaign button, I might add), and hoping for a brighter tomorrow when your Dad is elected President of the United States.
Joe from Taneytown, Maryland writes:
... this blog is just what the campaign needs. When you show someone's human side, it matters all that much more. Positivity is what attracts people; Senator McCain has no shortage of that, either. God Bless.
Tom from Excelsior Springs, Missouri writes:
Keep up the good work Meghan. I enjoy reading the more personal side of your dad, although I have read about him extensively. Having gone through the Viet Nam war also, I read (as my wife says) obsessively about the Viet Nam war and keep abreast of what is happening in Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan and other areas. I feel your dad would be a great leader. There are a couple of things I don't agree with him on, but we can work that out. Thanks again for your insight. God Bless America!
Kara from Dallas, North Carolina. writes:
The "inner beauty" blog was the most down to earth thing I have read in a long time. It's so great that there is actual people out there that thing its okay to be the size they were meant to be without having to fix it with a large sum of money. I will tell you that I appreciate that you are making yourself a roll model for younger girls. Stick to it. Because it's working. Girls shouldn't have to be pressured into being that "0" or making them think that, that's the way you should live life. Keep up the good work.
Jane from Elgin, Illinois writes:
Meghan, Please continue to keep up the good work! You are an outstanding role model for young ladies everywhere. You should consider publishing a journal after this campaign! You are a talented young lady with class!
Vera from Monroe, Connecticut writes:
I'm a tad older than your dad and I seldom nap in the afternoon, either! I was immediately taken by the art work of "you" in red shoes. Are there any of us out there who don't love shoes? It made me smile, but it's also beautifully rendered. I intend to explore your blog from time to time, and we'll be voting for your dad.
Randy from Naples, Italy writes:
Great blog! I've followed your Dad since the early 90s, and even did some small time campaigning in 2000 in Texas. I think your blog is awesome. The playlists and the pop culture are great. Keep up the great work!
Maria from Hong Kong writes:
I have been following the campaign closely via the news and the internet. I love what you did for your dad: it's totally refreshing. Good luck!
Jillian from Ft hood, Texas writes:
I am a huge fan of this site!! I saw this pop up as a main news story and started reading into it and i love it!! I actually did alot of research on your father from his military days to the future since my family is so close with the military that is one of my biggest concerns right now with voting for a new president and i want them taken care of!! My father deploys in july and we love your father and what he stands for...we need a hero in office who is a stand up person not like some of the other candidates who are more worried about destroying the others credibility then the real issues!! Again I will be checking this site every day now because i love seeing yall as real people!! I have faith your father will win this election!!
Rudy from Santa Cruz, California writes:
My wife and I are registered Democrat. Like your father, the Senator, I am also a Vietnam veteran and served to full retirement years in uniform. We think your parents are lucky to have a daughter like you. Definitely you are an asset to his campaign. Did I say we "are registered Democrat? True !! but, in this year's election, we are for John McCain all the way !!!!
Ron from Reno, Nevada writes:
I only just found your site today; thanks to AP. You do a wonderful and I'm a total conservative and supporter of your Father. I was also pleased to see the song of the day was by my all time favorite singer/songwriter. That really made my day --- keep up the good work. Good luck
Paula from Sacramento, California writes:
Hi Girls! I just found your blog this morning and spent over an hour on it!! What a great job all of you are doing. I found it on AOL and even took the survey that I NEVER check political blogs but you taught this 55 yr old Grandma a thing or two!! Just wanted to congratulate all of you.
Stephanie from Connecticut writes:
I love your blog! This is so great, I'm disappointed I haven't come across this sooner. Your dad is the man, he has my vote!! Best of luck to you guys!
Joshua from West River, Maryland writes:
I saw your blog advertised on the AP and wanted to say how great it is what your doing here. Too many political canidate's families have been trivialized and thought of as sub-par, but your blog shows that sub-par is out the window! thanks again for the musings. You have a new fan! Sincerely, Josh
Kara from Westbrook, Texas writes:
LOVE the blog! I really admire your maturity, growing up in the spotlight of such an accomplished man I'm sure has a fair share of pressure. You have portrayed your family in a fabulous light. Your Dad comes off brilliant, but polished and professional when he speaks, you show the side of him that says 'hes not just a genius, he's a human..."
Jeff from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey writes:
I love your Blogette,i t brings your dad and mom and yourself down to earth. I like to see people having fun even when the pressure is on and the whole world is watching. Thanks for sharing a little of yourself, so we as voters can see your views and your family values. It will make it so much easier to cast my vote for your dad now. Good luck and keep up the nice work.
Jerry from Bakersfield, California writes:
Meghan, I'll be brief this time. I love what you're doing here and I thank you for the fresh perspective on John McCain. Getting to know you makes me even more proud that I voted for your Dad! You seem like an incredibly intriguing young woman, and I know your Dad had something to do with that. Interestingly, my wife and daughter both have MFA degrees ... and my daughter is a Scorpio. Sadly, she's so far left we can't talk politics, but I love her anyway. Keep up the fine work! Jerry
Laurel from Richardson, Texas writes:
I am a proud army wife and mommy to 3 beautiful children. My husband is currently serving in Iraq. I just wanted to say I was at the Fairmont Hotel to celebrate your father's victory. I brought along my children as well and it meant so much to me to be a part of history in the making. Even though we did not make it home until way after my kiddos bedtime!
Fred from Adamsville, Tennessee writes:
Enjoyed your site. I am an independent and voting for Sen.McCain. Also a Navy Retired Airdale.
Dan from Rochester, Minnesota writes:
Meghan, Excellent site - you doing great work, and it's refreshing that in the middle of all the mud that politics seems to want to be, there is a positive view and voice! I'm supporting your dad for many reasons. In the times I've voted for a president, I've voted for an independent, a Democrat, and as I've gotten older, I've been seeking the candidate that shares my values the most. That would be your dad this year.
Virginia from Hammond, Indiana writes:
Meghan, after reading the AP article released today, I read your blog for the first time. Please keep it up--it's great to hear your perspective on your father. I know exactly what you mean about being so proud of your dad. I'm that way about my father and have been since I was born, I think! I'm now 55 and my father is 75, still going strong as a minister ten years after retirement age. He's a good man, a hard-working man, and I'm so proud to be his daughter. Your father definitely has my vote in November.
Alberta from Mannford, Oklahoma writes:
So refreshing to see a candidate's daughter who is down to earth, and doesn't have to be snotty to defend her parent's actions!! You may have heard it said, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree"? Helps to have a beautiful, courteous lady for a mother. Really enjoyed your site.
Richard from Santa Cruz, California writes:
I came across your blog a few days ago, and I think its great. I have so much respect for your Father. Being a former Marine Corps Sergeant (1999-2007) and stationed in Arizona I would read and hear about your father all the time, always hoping that he would run for president. I have so much respect for your father. I think yor blog is very real and it shows your true personality. I never knew he had such a beautiful and talented daughter. Keep up the good work and thank you for letting us into your life.
Lloyd from Florence, Montana writes:
I loved that music video you posted. As a result of the AP Story, I checked out the blog. It puts a human and friendly face in a place I felt was devoid of honest compassion and intergrity. I am actually looking forward to reading more about a candidate for a change.
Fred from Parkland, Florida writes:
Meghan, Your Dad has always been a hero to me, someone whom I admire and respect. I served four years in the military during Vietnam and have always looked up to him as a "big brother in-arms"(He's got a dozen years on me). We have two sons and a daughter around your age so I know how proud (of you) both your parents must be. Congrats on the great site. I just found it today. Keep up the good work!
Matt from Chicago, Illinois writes:
I hadn't heard about either you (Meghan) or your blog until I was eating breakfast this morning and perusing my roommate's GQ magazine. When I got to work today I clicked on your blog, and I have to admit I'm hooked. I, too, am a 23 year-old Scorpio who enjoys Bud Light and pretty much every song on your playlists... We have much in common, in fact, minus the whole presidential-candidate-dad thing. That, and I'm a dude. I graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Drama, though my interest in politics led me to take a few classes on the subject. Your blog provides a unique and candid perspective behind the scenes of your father's campaign, and though admittedly I've been more interested in the Democratic side of things during this race, I've learned more about your father's campaign through your blog than I have on any of the news sites, if for no other reason than that you provide an honest and exciting perspective of this process. So in short, thank you for doing this and allowing readers into the hearts and minds of your family and friends on the campaign trail. Best of luck, looking forward to seeing the McCains in Chicago.
Nelson from Richardson, Texas writes:
Your doing a great job keeping everyone informed on the behind the scenes campaign. Keep it up. Vote McCain 2008
Teresa from Spartanburg, South Carolina writes:
I really enjoyed reading Meghan's report on her Dad's visit to California. I lost my Dad in 1998, so reading it made me think of him. I have been a supporter of Sen. McCain since 1999 when I saw him on a news show. I was married to a Vietnam vet so I really learned to respect those that fight for our freedom. I am sure Sen. McCain is very proud of his Meghan and all of his children. I took a picture of him with my grandchildren when he was in South Carolina and just hearing him speak to them made me think he must be a good Dad. Thanks for sharing.
Elizabeth from Tucson, Arizona writes:
I love the site, the layout, the photos and the blog. Helps relate. Super creative!
Colin from Belt, Montana writes:
I really enjoy the candid video journal; it allows us to see another side of the candidate. Please keep up the awesome work I am sure it is very tiresome being on the road during the campaign. I am looking forward to seeing your Dad in the white house.
Andrew from Fort Hood, Texas writes:
Meghan, I read your expose in GQ and it was great! As I read, being that we are only a few years apart in age, I could easily relate to you. It gave me a refreshing perspective of your family and what that may mean to your father's possible presidency. Thank you for opening me up to the McCain Family. My suggested song for the road: "Valerie" by Amy Winehouse *sunset with windows down, enjoy. Andrew
Ivy from Centreville, Virginia writes:
Dear Miss McCain, Brava, brava, brava! You CANNOT know what a profound and positive effect you are having on your father's presidential campaign. Given this forum, you certainly eclipse Miss Clinton by unfathomable miles (and countless potential votes). My husband was a helicopter pilot who didn't make it home from Vietnam. And as a two-time breast cancer survivor with lymphedema, this military brat and former Navy officer's wife (son graduated from the Academy, too!), I am in awe of your father--from the time of his prisoner of war years to presently--as he deals with this little-understood side effect of cancer treatment, sometimes referred to as the "one-two punch of cancer." I look forward to following your blog, and wish you and your family the victory you so richly deserve. Keep up your fine work, continue just as you are doing, and know how deeply moved I am by you and your family. God bless you and keep you safe and healthy!!!! Ivy
Vivian from Louisville, Kentucky writes:
LOVE IT! Love the blog, love you guys, love the YouTube videos, love it all! Thank goodness, someone on the campaign trail doesn't take all this so dadgum seriously!!! Sending the link to all my friends! Keep it up! Good job -- and I give your dad credit for giving you the freedom to do it, too. Props!
Kathy from Ocala, Florida writes:
I am not sure of my candidate yet, because I have always been a democrat, but need to vote for the best person. Your blog is amazing and you have talent. it is fun just to journey thru a candidate's life . Loooooooong time ago, I was a volunteer for John Kennedy and I worked for Bobby Kennedy and a local congressmen. The excitment of campaigning is so contagious. Just enjoy the ride and I can see you do. You are very grounded and talented. Go GIrl

Thanks to everyone who took the time to write such kind comments. We continue to be encouraged by your support and hope you'll keep reading the blog.
Paul from Moreno Valley, California writes:
Meghan, your blog is awesome! I just discovered it about a month ago in an article on Foxnews.com. Your photos and articles about our next President and your family is nowhere to be seen in the mainstream media. I feel honored to have your father as our next President...
Elizabeth from Houston, Texas writes:
I had no idea this blog existed until my city's newspaper ran an article about you and this blog. So I thought I would check it out. I love this. It's so 21st century daughter-of-a-candidate. And to subtitle it "musings and pop culture on the political trail" is such an ingenious way to attract 20-somethings like myself and my friends. Right after I read this blog for the first time I sent the link to my closest friends. We all love it. Keep writing and tell Shannon and Heather their pics and videos are fabulous!
Katy from Reno, Nevada writes:
I am totally addicted to this blog, it definitely shows that there is a lot more to campaigning than shaking hands and holding babies, and it doesn't hurt that I am completely jealous of your wardrobe. Also, it's really inspiring that you're mom can use a camera phone! I love it, you've got my vote for sure.
Hillary from Baltimore, Maryland writes:
Hi Meghan! I'm a college student from Maryland and I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy reading your blog! I've been a supporter of your father since he announced he would run for office, and I absolutley love tracking his success in the race! Thank you for providing me with an inside look into your life on the campaign trail! Best of luck!
Loura from Lakeland, Florida writes:
First, the dedication to this publication is amazing! If anyone has an excuse to procrastinate with a daily commitment, it would be you, considering your overwhelming schedule. Second, the inside view of the McCain campaign has made this political endeavor very personable. I am delighted to see the genuine side of a politician! Anyone can do anything for a short period of time, including fake the appearance of being ethical and positive, these inside pictures speak volumes of Mr. McCain's character! Thank you for changing my attitude toward 2008! I'm pleased to feel certain that a good man, with no doubt, take his place in America's White House!
Gail from Harrisonburg, Virginia writes:
I love your blog! Even though I am an over 50 baby boomer, this is a great way to learn and know John McCain from a different point of view other than the Sunday morning talk shows! It is way more entertaining! I've sent the link to many of my friends - keep it up!
Rebecca from Maumelle, Arkansas writes:
It is extremely moving to see you and your dad together through these pictures. My father and I were very close. He died five years ago. While nothing on the scale of a Presidential campaign, he was a bit of a local figure here in Little Rock. The pictures of you guys hanging out together remind me of times with my dad. You are so lucky to have this experience with him. Enjoy every moment you have!
Diane from New York, New York writes:
Wow. Thanks for giving us an insider's view of your Dad and the campaign trail. You guys are doing a great job! Love the pictures and your comments. Your father inspires me. He's seen such horrors yet he has remained hopeful and positive. Your blog sweetly displays what a good man he is. We will all be so lucky to have such a man as our Commander in Chief. Best of luck and congratulations to you and your friends on the website. It's fantastic. Don't stop!
Melissa from Orlando, Florida writes:
I am so glad I found the Blogette!! It is so incredible. I was a McCain voter prior to knowing about this site but now I'm a McCain lover!! Your family is so awesome!! Thank you so much for letting us see the "inside". It makes such a difference. I can now tell people about my Presidential choice with a true passion I didn't have before. Thank you Megan!! Keep up the great work girls! It's making a difference!!
Judith from Newport, Rhode Island writes:
Dear Lovely Young Lady, OMG, you're great, human, natural, funny and fast. Keep it up! Hugs to you from this Newport Momma...
Laurie from New Milford, Connecticut writes:
My best friend just shared your blogette with me... I immediately sent it along to my sons! You're are so refreshing, honestly and passionately in love with your family and intelligent! I am the very proud mom to sons that are a US Marine and a Cadet at USMA West Point. Service above self is an absolute as for love of God and Family in our family... I hope and continue to pray for your Dad's good health and success as our President! I will continue to follow your enthusiastic campaign trail! My son will graduate West Point in 2010... how great will that be to have President John McCain be our Guest Speaker?!? Feel free to forward my personal request to your dad! I was fortunate enough to attend a fundraiser in NYC for dad last election... and it's a photo that has a whole new life to it now! Thank you!
Tim from San Diego, California writes:
Good Morning! I just read the current article on your Dad's campaign today on Yahoo and found the link to your blog. I figured I'd check it out. Being a retired Navy Chief myself I am of course a "McCain Supporter". Your blog is a refreshing relief from the typical media covereage. It gives a human side to you, your wonderful family, and to your father's campaign. Mr. McCain is a blessed man to have such a wonderful and supportive family. By the way, Shannon is really hot too! Sorry, I had to say that. McCain for President!!!
Patrick from Covington, Louisiana writes:
Megan, I read your interview in GQ the other day and loved it, which brought me to your site. Love the blogs and what the blogettes are doing. You three young lady's rock and we could not ask for a better example for the young girls in our country than the example the blogettes are providing. Rock on.
Natalie from Seoul, Korea writes:
I am the teenage daughter of two active duty military officers. Both of my parents are supporters of your father, but I've found an additional role model in you. You seem like the kind of person who is not swayed by the biases of others, which is exactly what I strive to do. It's only a matter of time before more young women look up to you, not only for your beauty and confidence, but for the wise use of your fame in making changes that the world needs.
Ken from Frederick, Maryland writes:
Megan: Awesome blog you have. I think it's great that you are with your Dad on the trail. Your Dad is a great American hero and will be a super President for the people. A lot of us soldiers know that he will not leave us out there flapping in the breeze. I just retired from the Army after 26 years of service. I can work on a political campaign and I have already signed up. Please tell your Dad that we have his "six". Keep up the great work!
Sonya from San Diego, California writes:
Dear Meghan, I am a 30 year old woman with a demanding career but I always take time to read up on politics and the news everyday. I have to admit I'm a bit of a political "junkie" so when I came across your blog, it put a smile on my face! Your blog is breath of fresh air from all the political over-analyzing that goes on every day. It gives such a unique perspective. I have been a long-time supporter of your father's and have convinced almost all of my family to vote for him come November. I also liked reading about how your father has shaped who you are today. I feel the same way about my father. He was a fighter pilot as well... for the Marines though (you know how that is)... and he is one of the best people I have ever known. He enstilled in me some very fundamental core values that I will always cherish. He is also a HUGE supporter of your fathers. Keep up the good work! I look forward to reading more.
Sheila from Brooklyn, New York writes:
Hi Meghan. Your blog entry about "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" made me smile because I (like your mother) am an AZ mom of 3 children who are your age - and every night I would have to sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to my son Louie before he went to sleep - not once - at least 3 times a night in the Tucson desert. And NO, I do not have a good voice. We live in NY now but I never stopped following education in AZ or your father, politically. I attended both NYC events and I had the opportunity to talk to our next President (I had met your father at previous political events in AZ and NY). However I look forward to meeting you and your mother at the next event and share that "Rainbow" and dreams for children. You will recognize me. I will be the woman who can't sing that special mother-child song. I'll bring ear-plugs for everyone else in the room.
Phil from Laurel, Montana writes:
Love your blog. Keep up the good work young lady. Your dad is a lucky man and he has my vote to take care of this great country that I served in the military to protect. Love and prayers to u all!
Micki from Abilene, Texas writes:
I just wanted to say that as a member of the United States Air Force and an Iraq war Veteran having served for 6 months in 2007 - I AM A PROUD SUPPORTER OF YOUR DAD!! I am praying every day for our country and the Iraqi people I came to love during my tour that your Dad becomes our Commander In Chief - I would be proud to serve under his leadership. I truly feel that your Dad is what our country needs at this moment. Thank you Meghan for doing this blog and showing sides of your Dad that people don't often get to see. May God Bless you, your family, our country, and the Iraqi people.
Sarah from Baltimore, Maryland writes:
Hey, Blogettes! I'm a thirteen year old girl, who's never really been all that interested in politics or anything since I cannot vote yet. But reading this blog has given me a different look at politics, that even though it is serious business, there's a lot of fun behind the scenes. Thanks for more or less "opening my eyes"!
Mario from Quebec Canada writes:
Great site, great pictures and just a few words to let you know that your blog is even talked about on Cyberpresse, a Canadian newspaper. Even if it is mainly French speaking here in Quebec, the Americain presidential campaign is followed closely by many people. Best wishes and chin high, no matter what!
Amy from Chicago, Illinois writes:
Hi Meghan, I read about your blog from the AP yesterday and once I read the most recent post, I spent the past 2 hours reading through months of past posts. I love what you are doing, and as a proud college student supporting your Dad, it's really fun to see a side of the campaign trail that isn't usually seen! Keep it up! I've become addicted!
Jennifer from Mount Clare, West Virginia writes:
I'm so excited that I came across your blogette. I loved all of your entries and the pictures. You seem so down to Earth. I am 33 years old and my husband and I have 5 children. Joseph from Tennessee writes:
You are just the best. I was reading about you being your Daddy's girl and brought back lots of memories for me of my father. I, like you, always felt safe when he was near. Keep up the good work. I love your blog. Would not miss it. Your Dad would make the BEST President.
Brett from Abilene, Texas writes:
I was just made aware of this website a little over a week ago, and I have loved going through your postings. I met your dad twice during my Plebe year at the Naval Academy, and he was as friendly and personable as anyone could be. I love supporting him in this election, and I wish him all the best. Thanks for showing us a different side of the campaign trail. I'm looking forward to hearing so much more!
Moktar from Paris, France writes:
i just discovered the blogette and wanted to say that, contrary to what people pretend in France, there are many people here supporting John McCain. I was glad to see that you had such an interesting and funny initiative with this page; I just wanted to congratulate and say good luck. Keep on writing and have the best campaign ever!
Michele from Bozeman, Montana writes:
I am really enjoying your blog! I love your candid humor and real life take on what is happening around you at this interesting time for your family! It is interesting to see it all from your perspective!!
Samantha from Goddard, Kansas writes:
I just started reading your blog and I love it. I just wanted to thank you for being a supporter of Operation Smile. My daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate and we support them. I love your dad and what he can do for our nation. God Bless and take care.
Dave from Herndon, Virginia writes:
Meghan, God Bless You and your Dad and Mom. Your blog is very entertaining. I am going to vote for your Dad and so is my Mom who NEVER votes for Republicans. I read your Inner Beauty column and am mystified why anyone would critize your looks. Holy Cow? You are beautiful. Anyways good look to you and your Dad, a man who I greatly admire.
Bradley from Houston, Texas writes:
Today is the day that I found my link to the Republican side of this election. Your blog is a refreshing and intelligent narrative that I really enjoy reading and watching. I was also very impressed by the awesome advise you had for woman about weight and self image. Personally, I think you are gorgeous. A curvy shape is a woman's shape, and did I mention... you are gorgeous!
Vicky from Gorham, New Hampshire writes:
Just want to thank you again for your terrific blog! I loved reading what you wrote about your Dad's speech in San Francisco... Your father is going to be our next president, and he is going to change the world for the better! Can't wait to see your pics of the White House in 2009!
Kathy from Plano, Texas writes:
Just stumbled upon your blog and I love it! You are such a beautiful, amazing young woman and I'm sure your Mom and Dad are so very proud of you! It takes a special person to put themselves and their lives out there for the public to see like you have and it's so refreshing to hear your point of view of life on the campaign trail. Keep up the good work. The world needs more like you and "The Blogettes" in it!
Lulu from Putney, Vermont writes:
I'm only 8 going on 9 but I'm already a big fan of our new president (your dad.) I read your website and you sound like a great person. I hope we meet someday.
Jim from Santa Fe Springs, California writes:
I am so respectful of your dad's military and public service. Pretty good family guy too. A guy with real fortitude can go a long way in the military, captivity, and politics! I really like the candid shots along the campaign trail, and the blog postings. I am sure I will be sending future mail to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. after November. Best wishes.
Bruce from Seattle, Washington writes:
Hi Megs, I keep reading your blog and then thinking, wow, this woman could be President herself someday. Your honesty, committment to your personal values, and communication of integrity are traits that would be most welcome in a world leader. Plus you have put together a very entertaining read. I'm supporting the "other side" in this election, but my sense is that you will continue to grow in depth of character, compassion, and sharp wits. Please consider staying in the fray as well. I hope to see you at the top of the ticket, on any side, in the future.
Kurt from Orlando, Florida writes:
Nice job here Meg. Your father is a good man. I have 2 daughters 16 and 18. My 18 year old is registered to vote already. It is very important that young people like yourself get involved and show that we can have an open discussion about issues without turning it into a circus.
Adam from Charlottesville, Virginia writes:
Nice playlists. I like a lot of the songs you have on there, so I think I'll try out some of the things I haven't heard yet. Thanks for the ideas.
Rob from Los Angeles, California writes:
Hi Meghan, I read about your blog in the AP yesterday and just had a moment to check it out. I think it is fantastic that you and your team are sharing your experiences while campaigning for your father. My father is a graduate from USNA as well, and I certainly know the character instilled to the Midshipmen. We have great respect and admiration for your father and your family. Keep up the great work!
Bob from Corpus Christi, Texas writes:
Meghan, Thank you so much for showing a side of politics we rarely, if ever, get to see. You are a like a breath of "fresh air" that we all need so much.
Tom from Anderson, South Carolina writes:
Great work on the blog. It really gives a unique perspective on what goes on out there on the campaign trail. I also really enjoy your taste in music and think you do a great job of representing your father and showing the world what cool people you and your family are.
Lindsey from San Francisco, California writes:
You rock! There's no other way to put it. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to see such an intelligent, hip and sassy young Republican out on the trail. Simiply put, the nation will be a better place if your father wins.

"Viewer Mail Volume 6"
POSTED BY MEGHAN
ON 04.18.08 11:05 AM
We've had more submissions from visitors in the last three weeks than we've had since launching this site in October. In fact, we had to split this update into two volumes. (Volume 7 will come next week.) As you will see when you read the comments below, we are so lucky to have such supportive fans. We'll have some new things to post next week as we get ready to head back to DC for the Correspondents Dinner on April 26th.
Lisa from Charlottesville, Virginia writes:
I absolutely love your blog! My husband and I are major fans and supporters of your father. I know he will win in November! My husband's nephew attended the Naval Academy and we visited several times. It is beautiful! We try to get to Annapolis whenever possible; it's such a wonderful place. Thanks for such a fun blog and your great coverage on the behind-the-scenes campaigning!
Mary from Coronado, California writes:
Hey Meghan, Your name came up today on a LA radio station today so I had to check it out. You ROCK! I'm so glad you're not such a clone of previous political daughters. Hope your dad wins!! I'm voting for him and you!!
Stefanie from Linden, Michigan writes:
You have a very cool blog. Its nice to see what it is really like in politics and the fun. I also love the music you recommend. Keep up the good work and have fun at the Correspondents dinner!
Rich from Providence, Rhode Island writes:
It is nice to see a younger perspective on politics. Great playlists as well.
Dann from Heath, Texas writes:
Hey girls, you are doing a great job on this blog. I am a true blue, dyed in the wool, conservative Republican and I have to admit have been a bit leary of voting for your dad. But as strange as this might sound your blog has given me a whole new perspective on him. After watching him and reading about your campaign trips on this blog I'm about to make my first donation to his campaign. I have my 21 year old son reading it now and as first time voter in a presidential election has also become a McCain spporter. Keep up the good work and let your dad know it helped get him a few votes this November. I'll pass the word to all my friends, too!! GO McCAIN!
Robert from La Habra, California writes:
Meghan, This blog is extremely refreshing and fun to read. Almost addicting. After reading the usuals, WSJ, NY Times, and Drudge every day, I have to admit I sneak the time in to read your blogs. Keep doing what you're doing, it's a fine job!
Ayala from Atlanta, Georgia writes:
I've got to tell you, I'm a staunch Democrat and Obama supporter, but I don't think I would mind at all if your dad gets elected. I love your website and you have absolutely INCREDIBLE taste in music! It's interesting to hear about the behind-the-scenes life of politics from a girl my age who I feel I can actually relate to. Keep it up!
Jean-Fran from France writes:
I'm not involved in the American campaign at all and this is the first time I went on your blog. I find it fresh and pleasant. I was particularly touched by the love you seem to have for your father. I can only think he deserves it. Please keep on. All the best, Jean-Fran
Jayna from Victorville, California writes:
I heard about your site this morning on my way to work. I was listening to Bill Handel and he was quite impressed by what you are doing as well as your candor. This inspired me to take a look once I got to my desk. I agree that you are creating a blog that has a real life stance, instead of a politically motivated one. I think that your authenticity and honesty about your interests while campaigning for your father are both interesting (especially to a younger audience) and fun. It is nice to see that someone is willing to just go along, support her father and his endeavors, and be plain honest about what she sees. I hope you have fun on the rest of the trail.
Joseph from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia writes:
I stumbled on this blog and was supprised by how much alternative information you provide. Your perspective of the current U.S. primaries is intresting... I call your style the "alternative news" which gives the finer details of the ' nside events.' You come across as brilliant girls, good work! Cheers
Sue from Fort Worth, Texas writes:
I started checking out your blog back in November when my daughter, Bethany, was assigned to cover the straight talk express - Mom's always love to follow the assignments of their cherished kids! But quickly, Meghan, I was hooked! what an incredible glimpse you have given us into a life of service. Your attitude is a compliment to your family. You have such depth, as well as a willingness to share with us the highs and lows of being the child of a candidate. Thank you so much for providing your perspective...
Steven from New York, New York writes:
You, your father, pretty much your enire family make me feel proud to be an American again. I feel such a sense of optimism, spirit and joy at what our future could be if (when) your dad becomes our next president. And I think they should replace the national seal of approval with just your smile! Too corny? =)
Patti from Owensboro, Kentucky writes:
Thank you so very much for this awesome blogette. I was so impressed with you and your family - it's like the "family that plays together, stays together". You have opened up your family diaries for the world to see and I hope they choose to do so. There is absolutely nothing to hide, nothing to be ashamed of and you can see the integrity and your love for each other radiating from the photos! Your family is amazing and I enjoyed my visit (via internet) with you. My husband and I have always been huge fans of your father and have admired his love for our country and his astounding courage and bravery. My husband (aka Dan) is a Navy veteran that served at Cecil Field and at times saw your father on base. He also had the privilege to meet and speak with Admiral Stockdale. Dan also served on the USS Forestal. If you get the opportunity to visit Owensboro, Kentucky we would love to introduce you to our "World Famous Bar-B-Que". I think you would be pleasantly surprised! I also know that Dan would love to talk "sea stories" with your father and you could meet our County Judge/Executive Reid Haire (my boss) that is running for Congress. Really is a small world when you think about it! Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and we are certainly praying that Senator McCain will be our next President of the United States of America. Blessings, Patti
Danny from Charlotte, North Carolina writes:
I have always been a fan of McCain, but I read the article about Megan in GQ, and I fell in love with his daughter too, I am just an average guy with alot of admiration for the McCain clan. Keep pushing... I am a former Marine that prays he gets in the WH.
Heather from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania writes:
Hey girls what's up?? The blog rocks as usual. I have a proposition for you... since we are endorsing your dad for president, would you endorse David Cook to win American Idol this year??? That would rock and the Word Nerds would love that!
John from Dallas, Texas writes:
YOUR DAD ROCKED TODAY... After his speech at the AP luncheon he sat down... had a donut and took some questions... He was great... He sent chills through me... That purpose something bigger thing... WOW !!! Just need to work on those speeches... I say the 'BLOGETTE SIGN' in Dallas... I was in the ballroom that night at the Fairmont Hotel... I was happy to see a lot of young voters!!! Thanks for all the pics... GET SOME REST... John
Mary from San Diego, California writes:
Hi Meghan, Just wanted to tell you that I have really enjoyed reading your blog in the last hour or two. The insider perspective you've given me on your family life (relationship with your mom and dad) has won me over. He seems like a really great man! I also think your mom is really admirable. Many people talk about how important it is to take care of orphans but not many go out and actually do anything about it. It's awesome that she knew she was being called to adopt and followed through on it - not simply out of duty but with genuine love...
Mary from Brookline, New Hampshire writes:
Hi Blogettes- My daughter Colleen who is 12 and I read your blog every week and love it. Your comments about your dad and all the experiences you are having while traveling are great to see and read about. Good luck and God bless your family and the fantastic USA.
Len from Fort Benning, Georgia writes:
Although I am an Army Chaplain approaching the age of your father, I can't tell you how much those of us in the Army respect and admire your dad. What he went through is incredible and what he hopes to accomplish for this country can only be accomplished by a man of your dad's stature and experience. I'm a little old for this but your blog is incredible and I read it every day. Keep up the good work and continue to do great things for your father.
Katie from Bristol, Virginia writes:
Meghan! I absolutly LOVE your blog! It's so fabulous. I think you are just too cute and I love your clothes! I'm so pumped for you and your fam. I know your dad will win the White House and I'm so proud that you all stay so classy. Keep up the great work! This blog is such a great idea, it really keeps the younger voters (I'm 26) in the loop w/ your dad's campaign. I keep emailing everyone a link to this page so that all my friends and family can see why I'm voting for John McCain! Best of Luck!!
Jason from Conyers, Georgia writes:
Another reason to vote McCain: A First Daughter who listens to Tom Waits, Bad Brains, Fugazi, Iggy Pop, Gang of Four, T Rex, and the Smiths. I mean, do you NEED another reason? I'm not sure you were yet born when I saw Fugazi play at Columbia - it's hard to believe someone your age even knows about this stuff. Keep up the good work educating people about good politics and good music - both all too rare.
Paulette from Nederland, Texas writes:
I have been a McCain supporter it seems like forever, I am so excited about the future because we will have a President with so much honor and integrity. I love the blog because it makes him so real and because it is put together with love. I have a great dad that I love as much a Meghan loves hers and in this day and age parents aren't loved enough! McCain for President 2008!
Gina from Queen Creek, Arizona writes:
Meghan, Just wanted to say, I love your blog! I have been reading for several months and it just gets better and better. I am not originally from Arizona so I have to admit I did not know that much about your Dad and what exactly he stood for but the more I researched the more I felt like he was the right candidate for President. I am so inspired by everything I have found out about him I am going to sign up to volunteer for his campaign today! You are a great example to young girls - keep up the good work! Gina P.S. He was great on The View today!
Ruth from Clemmons, North Carolina writes:
OMG! THE WAVE with your mom was hilarious! I BET you'll be able to get everyone at the convention to do the wave with her! ...I'd be interested in learning how/who taught you to be so generous with your father and his time? It's not something kids would do naturally, but you seem to have done it very magnanimously. Who showed you how? Keep up the superfantastic blog and enjoy your time off. You are doing something very good here. Ruth :)
Thomas from Fredericksburg, Virginia writes:
Megan, I hope you, Heather and Shannon enjoy your time away. I will miss the updates to your blog. It has become a welcome break from the daily grind. A guaranteed bright spot in my day. Thank you for being you and sharing yourself with us. Again enjoy your time away. Spring break is almost over...
Ana from Carson, California writes:
I'm so happy that I came across this website. Honestly, it's totally refreshing to read what's on your site. This site is a total opposite of what I see on the news or read online. I'm really happy that you're willing to share your personal experiences with the rest of us plebians! By the way, I really get a kick out of all the candid shots of you three on the campaign trail. The three of you have a realistic personality / image, not some image of perfection - which is annoying and fake. Definitely keep it up... have an awesome road trip... and good luck to your pops!
Neil from Atlanta, Georgia writes:
Just wanted to say how much I've been enjoying your blog. I really just discovered it about a month ago and have loved seeing all the blogs from the first one. It's great to see you having fun on what must be a exhausting time. Just keep on finding those happy moments and enjoy them. As for negative things people may say about your family, I know they have to hurt but remember that you know the truth and it sets you free. Thanks again for the blog and I look forward to reading more. Hopefully though you can have some time off, so to speak , to refresh yourself cause that's important too!
Sharon from Pendleton, Oregon writes:
Hey Meghan, Thank you so much for sharing your family with us. I only found this site a couple of weeks ago and check in with you every few days. As a PROUD Army Mom, I have especially enjoyed learning what little I knew about your Dad's years of service to this country both in the Navy and as a civilian. I so admire your whole family's commitment to serve this country. God's speed to your brothers in their military careers and to you all wherever this adventure takes you.
Elisa from Wichita, Kansas writes:
Meghan, you do NOT get to take a break from blogging! What other blog can I read at work that gets through the nasty government censors? Have your hot brother Jack update while you're on your break :) Thanks!
Jon from Madison, Wisconsin writes:
Just wanted to commend you on the GQ article. I thought it was a rather flattering representation of you. It really highlighted your humor and unique approach to the current political environment. Plus the respect paid to tattooed boys that wear chucks made me smile - even though those days are only a recent memory as I finish up grad school. Take care, Jon

Blogettes, I just have to say I love your site. In this crazy time of biased news reporting, it is nice to be able to see Senator McCain at a more personal level. I really enjoyed your pictures and comments around the News Corp BBQ. Keep up the good work and Go McCain in 2008!!!! Take care...
Taylor from St. Louis, Missouri writes:
Dear Megan, My name is Taylor and I'm a high school senior. I've always loved politics; in fact, I am planning on double majoring in Political Science and Journalism next year at the University of Georgia. After reading the AP article on your blog (sent from my uncle!), I wanted to tell you that I think it's great how you're giving the public such a rare look at your family and your father's campaign. I was looking at past entries recently and noticed your March 10th post regarding inner beauty. I feel compelled to tell you that I think you're an amazing role model to young girls in a country where more people are more interested in celebrity gossip than presidential campaigns, especially at 18! Jealousy can be very hurtful; however, ignore the malicious comments and please keep your head up! Your blog is a wonderful way for young voters to see your father as a real person, not just another politician, who will hopefully be our president come November! I look forward to keeping up with the campaign through your blog!
Lauren from Olive Branch, Mississippi writes:
Love your blog! I can't believe I just found it. I'm passing it on to my fellow Republican friends. I think those McCain sunglasses are cute. It would be fun to have a pair during this election season. Y'all should mass produce them and sell them on your Dad's website.
Richard from Redlands, California writes:
Meghan, I just finished your interview in the April 2008 issue of GQ. I loved it, couldnt find one thing you said to disagre with. Your honesty, beliefs, and views were so refreshing. By the way at present I'm a hard core Dem. Hope to hear more from you.
Jack from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania writes:
I've been following your Blogette and I think it is an excellent way of getting to know John McCain personally without actually meeting him. You and your friends are doing a great of providing information. Will miss you guys till the end of April.
Lindsey from Ventura, California writes:
Let me just say it is so refreshing to find your blog and the incredible insight to this election cycle. The photos are amazing and I love the playlists! Keep up the great work! PS. Meghan - Does your father really watch The Hills? I think that is so hilarious!
Jeff from Chicago, Illinois writes:
Hey, Great job on the site. It is nice to see what goes on, when people are not looking. I have been a McCain supporter, but since reading your blogs, I can say that I know I am supporting the right person... Good luck to you and Good luck to your father. Ignore your critics, and keep up the good work. Jeff P.S. "People hate those who they cannot relate to or agree with, that does not mean you have anything to apoligize for." I live by this quote, it does not apply to you directly but I came up with it to stand up for those who have a better chance in life due to the sacrifices of their parents.
HHB from Willis, Virginia writes:
Dear McCain Blogettes, May I congratulate you on the best advocacy campaign coverage yet! Professional with the personal touch, excellent photography moments, delightful quality videos - all of which really does convey the spirit of Senator McCain's endeavor. BTW, am definitely an older person (65), a political independent and a "private" media critic. Have given up on the networks entirely, reading Reuters to find out what happens. Your good work is sincere, no doubt where you're coming from, straight talk from the source. Thank you all for making this material available. Best wishes of course - looking forward to seeing your first White House production...
Reshma from Round Rock, Texas writes:
I love your blog Meghan! Keep up the excellent work!
Cassandra from Fayetteville, Arkansas writes:
The 2008 elections will be my first time to vote, and I was just going back and forth on who I supported. After I found this blog, I knew I had to vote for McCain. I love how close your family is and it's nice to see a different side of politics that is personable and fun. Keep up the good work!
Faith from Wilmington, Delaware writes:
I just recently cam across your blog and let me tell you it has made me much more excited about this election and the next four years! You seem like a great person and a truly wonderful role model for teenage girls everywhere. I love reading this blog and getting to see the down to earth family side of your dad.
Hugh from Worthington, Kentucky writes:
Straight talk - that's the way I like it. So, straight up, your father wasn't my first choice as our candidate. But, my fellow Republicans preferred him over my preference and I value loyalty as much as any attribute. So, as a loyal Republican, I'm with your dad 100%. I'll donate once the general election campaign begins, plus bumper sticker, yard sign, etc. Also, I really enjoy your blog. It's from a perspective few of us will every personally experience. Thank you for sharing it. All the best to you and God's blessing on you and your family.

Being a 23 year old workin' girl in D.C. I am always on the look-out for something to help the day go by faster at work. Your blog is a lifesaver!! Especially when the only thing people ever talk about in this city...is the election (even when I'm out at the bars! yuck.) It is so re-freshing to hear your take on things and I love your sense of humor. Also, love the awesome pictures! I can't wait to read more as we get even closer to November:) Which I think is close to both of our birthdays (I'm a Scorpio too) and with the same name it's kinda freaking me out. Can't wait till you move into the White House, and from one D.C. girl to another...there are a definite lack of cute guys in this city, BE PREPARED!
Amy from Cleveland, Ohio writes:
I just found out about this website through Facebook. It is definitely an awesome site and a great way to get more information about what's up on the McCain trail. I'm currently studying abroad in Morocco and I feel totally out of the campaign loop, but this is a great way to keep up on things! Thanks for keeping such a great site! It's nice to get another perspective of the campaign trail from other sources besides the media!
Robert from Boise, Idaho writes:
The photos of your dad at McCain Field with the Blue Angels brought tears to my eyes. Meghan, I hope you are very, very proud of your old man because he has definitely earned it. Best wishes to you all.
Chelsea from Houston, Texas writes:
Hi my name is Chelsea and I am 14 years old and from Houston Texas. I am a proud Republican and I proudly support your father in this presidential election. To bad I'm not old enough to vote - bummer!...
Jennifer from Meridian, Mississippi writes:
Thank you for your story on Hope Village. It is a wonderful place and has touched many lives. I am so glad that you and your family experienced it.
Sharon from Greenville, South Carolina writes:
The pride in your family shows in every blog that you write. You are such a role model for young people. I am sure your family is equally proud of you. As a former AF nurse during the Viet Nam era, I fully support your father and hope he will be our next President. Our country needs to regain the values we once had.
Matt from New York, New York writes:
Meghan, Independent of the fact that I am a big supporter of your father as a Presidential candidated and admirer of his as an American, I have become one of your biggest fans. I find you to be caring, outgoing, intelligent, friendly and absolutely adorable (everything I look for in a girl!) You certainly took a risk in creating the Blogette, opening yourself up to some criticism and scrutiny, but by giving the rest of America an inside look at life on the campaign trail, you demonstrate the honesty and decency of the McCain family. As a twenty-three year old moderate New York Republican, I hope your father becomes this great nation's next President. He is a great leader and your mother will make an excellent First Lady. As for you, it would be nice to have such a down to earth and beautiful young First Daughter in the White House. Best of luck this year!
Adrienne from Columbia, Maryland writes:
Meghan - Just had to write to tell you how fabulous your blog is - we get to see a really personal side of your family. I am a big supporter of your dad and I think you are a wonderful asset to his life - not just his campaign. Just had to comment on your comment on someone handing you info on lipo - shame on them! You are beautiful and, your mother raised you well - to believe in yourself. You are the sun at your father's side and your mom is the moon lighting him from behind - you both do a wonderful job and, if I had a daughter like you, I be very, very proud of her. Keep up the good work!
Skipp from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota writes:
As an "Ole Navy Vet", just a year younger then your Dad, GOD BLESS YOU GIRL!!! "BIG JOHN" is MY man!!!
Julia from Dallas, Texas writes:
Meghan: I am so glad that are doing this blogette series. You are an amazing representative for your father and his campaign. Furthermore, in this day and age, the character and integrity you demonstrate through this site is testament in itself that your parents are wonderful people and therefore MORE than qualified to be leader and first wife of our Country. Take care and I hope you and your family make it to the White House. With much hope and confidence in the McCain campaign, Julia - BTW also a Scorpio :)
Mychelle from Chicago, Illinois writes:
Meghan! I love reading your blog, and coming from a military family myself, I identify with so many things you've said over the past few months. I really look forward to see your playlists, and I noticed you selected one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands: "Anenome" by BJM. Later in the playlist you've got another amazing band, The Morning After Girls. Have you heard their amazing (and possibly even more sublime) cover of "Anenome?" It's demo, but I highly suggest you track it down. Keep up the great work, don't listen to anyone who thinks you need to change! And keep fighting for your dad. I know I'm unpopular amongst my artist and indie-rock friends when I say this, but I'm behind you all the way!
Jake from Cincinnati, Ohio writes:
Keep up the posting, I love the view into the inside of politics. I'm not a Republican but am in full support of Sen. McCain and your posts only support my belief.
Melissa from Troy, New York writes:
Hello blogette ladies, Hope all is well on the campaign trail! Just wanted to take a minute to thank you for doing what you are doing... your content gives the McCain campaign a very real, human touch. By taking a behind the scenes peek, not only do I feel like I'm part of it, but I'm now privy to the absolutely "normal" happenings on the trail... goofy pictures, iPods and all. Too often, I feel that candidates for elected office are completely out of touch the lives and needs of people like me. This blog has reinforced my belief that not only is John McCain the right choice for our country, but is also just an average, fun-loving family guy. Thanks again - you ladies rock!
Cheryl from Seattle, Washington writes:
I'm a 52-year old woman who can't get enough of your blog! Good work! I'm a political junkie (and a big McCain supporter) but I'm also a huge fan of make-up and shoes, so your blog has it all for me! You go, girl blogettes!!!
Mara from Zionsville, Indiana writes:
Hi! Cool Blog, Blogette! Very informative and inspiring.

Hi Meghan, I just discovered your blog today and am enjoying reading it! Safe travels on the campaign trail and please tell your grandmother that I think she looks smashing!
Maureen from Manassas, Virginia writes:
I've been reading your blog for a few weeks now. I think it's great that you bring a sense of fun to your father's campaign. I really enjoy the pictures, also. I read your post about the mean things some people have said about your size and wanted to comment. My niece is eleven years old and she is not a petite girl. Some kids at school have tried to make her feel badly about her size. I've tried to talk to her about it, but she says I can't understand because I was very tiny as a girl and she knows that - she's seen the pictures. I've shown her your blog and now not only have you helped her feel better about herself, but she's a John McCain supporter, too! Thank you so much for being such a positive role model, not only as an intelligent young woman AND a girly-girl who loves fashion and make-up (the two are not mutually exclusive), but also as a proud, curvy woman who loves good food. Health is not a dress size. God Bless You!!
Anthony from Queensland, Australia writes:
I've been stopping by your blog off and on for the past month and only yesterday stumbled across your "Inner Beauty" post. I was shocked, not least of all that people could be so rude, but mainly because all the blogettes are so ridiculously good looking. Have a great time on the campaign trail and best of luck to your Dad. And if you're ever in Australia, look me up ;)
Danny from Phoenix, Arizona writes:
I love seeing all the photos on the blog. Will all of this be archived for posterity? I think it's so cool to see a behind-the-scenes look at such a historic campaign, it would be great for people to be able to access photo albums! Keep doing great! You all are in for such a great experience which will take you straight to the history books!
Austin from Titusville, Florida writes:
I just became aware of your blog on the Greta Van Susteren show. She recommended that we check out your site. I did, and thoroughly enjoyed it. More people should know about it. You do a great job of making us feel a part of the campaign as you travel across our great country. I pray for success, and especially safety, as you and your family continue in your travels.
Jo from San Antonio, Texas writes:
Hello Meghan. Anyway, I'm from the old school (57 yrs old last month) and loving our parents and our "Nanas" is very important to me and so I just wanted to say that it did my heart good to see and read your blog. The pictures you took at the Blue Angels show and then the dinner at Sela/Howard Ward's home were great. You have a terrific sense of humor and a great way w/words. I enjoyed it all (with you). Give your parents our best (my husband Sammy and myself) and tell your dad, he's got our vote... Take care and I'll continue to watch and read your blog.
Alisha from Midland, Texas writes:
Blogettes, Love the web site! And have told so many people about it. As Gen X'er or Y'er (somewhere in between) I have all always enjoyed some form of reality TV - Real World, Blind Date, Big Brother, Top Model ... and as a young EDUCATED professional, politics has always been part of my reality indulgence. Politics is as real as it gets - and incredibly pertinent and valuable to our generation. 2008 is more our election than it is our parents'. Thank you for showing that young, educated women don't have to choose whether we follow Idol or Election Watch. I appreciate what you all are doing as well as what you represent to the American and international public. Cheers, Alisha
Anne from Holland, Michigan writes:
Hi Blogettes! I love the blog! This was a great idea and executed flawlessly. Keep up the good work!

Meghan, you're doing a great service to your Dad, and are a great role model for young women. Keep rockin' I love your playlists. When you swing through Ohio in the general I am for sure going to check your Dad out. Best of luck!!!

I served in the USN during some of the years your Dad served. I have always liked and highly respected him and his ideals. You, no doubt, are an apple that has not fallen far from the tree. Let's get Dad elected and put this country back in order. GO NAVY! GO McCain!!!
Stephanie from McKinney, Texas writes:
Hi Meghan, I'm so enjoying your blog. It's been so fun to see your family having fun while enjoying the campaign process. Love the pictures, love the commentary. Seeing the pictures of your dad, has given me an insight into his personality and more than convinced me that he will be such a great president for our ever so varied population...Thanks, Stephanie

Kimberly from Staten Island, New York writes:
Hey! I read your blog all the time and I think it's amazing. I love seeing the other side of your dad and your family. A funny little tidbit: I go to fashion school in NYC and as probably the only Republican there, I'm obviously in a losing battle. Anyway, someone put up an Obama sticker in a stairwell, so I put up a McCain '08 sign and they keep ripping it down! So I just keep replacing it. I'm trying to do my part in like the most liberal school in the United States. Thanks again for an awesome blog!

"Viewer Mail Volume 5"
POSTED BY MEGHAN
ON 03.24.08 12:45 PM
As we head out on the trail tomorrow, I thought it might be the perfect time to do another installment of viewer mail. I am so excited for this upcoming week's schedule: it includes stops in Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, and Heather's hometown of Carmel! As you will read below, I was really touched by all of the comments the site has received since the "Inner Beauty" post on March 10th. And we received our first comments from Japan and Argentina. Thank you!
Kelly from Reidsville, North Carolina writes:
I just discovered the bloggettes today and I'm so glad I did. I've read back through much of February, but decided to stop for a moment and drop you a note. I am loving your work. You are wonderfully talented ladies and are doing a fantastic job! Thanks for bringing us on the bus with you.
Katrina from Miami, Florida wrote:
I am an avid supporter of your father's campaign, but my friend told me about your blog 2 months ago, and I've been hooked ever since! Working on his campaign was extremely monumental for me, and it was fascinating to see pictures, videos, and everything else posted from when you were in my hometown. I think it's great for you to show the world that politicians and their families are normal people too! The pictures are great and are a great contribution to your commentaries. Keep up the awesome work!!!
Dennis from Long Beach, California writes:
As the father of two young girls I have to admit to being a bit choked up by your post on your body. You are an outstanding young woman and this post reflects that. We have a ways to go (my girls are 8 and 6) until my daughters are your age, it is the intention of my wife and I that when they do become adults they have many of your traits and qualities: self-confidence, courage to put their feelings and opinions out for others to see (and criticized), ability to communicate well and intelligently, and an obvious ability to make those around you happy and enjoying your company. Your mother and father must be tremendously proud of you. I very much hope that come January 2009 you will have your own bedroom for when you visit your folks at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue! Thank you for the inspiration you provide many young women, and parents. God Bless and safe journey to the Balkans.
Dorothy from Encinitas, California wrote:
You're making a great contribution to your Dad. I'm rootin' for y'all.
Trevor from Los Angeles, California writes:
I totally admire your response about inner beauty. It hits home in so many ways for so many young women (and men!) who are reading your posts. More importantly, it reaches out across party lines (I happen to be an Obama fan myself - though I definitely think your dad rocks!) and it establishes a common thread we all share. These social issues are extremely relevant and appropriate for you to comment on Meghan. We definitely need more of it in popular discourse. Don't hold yourself back! It empowers others to say what they feel and it speaks to your confidence as an audacious, intelligent and articulate person.
Kat from Manhattan Beach, California wrote:
Your pictures and oh so real comments put a big smile on my face. Eloise in the Plaza - I love it!
Miriam from London, England writes:
I'm as British as they come and an Obama supporter to boot, but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog. I check in pretty regularly just to see what's going on in your life - it's lovely to have a bit of an alternative viewpoint in politics. The blog is breezy and fun and informative without making you feel like you're being pestered to believe one thing or another. Keep doing what you're doing, please!
Cecilia from Buenos Aires, Argentina wrote:
You might be surprised to learn you have a reader in South America who is also a supporter for your Dad. I check on campaign news all the time since I truly believe the United States is a major player in the world and a good leader can be like a beacon for all. Congratulations for your blog, it's fresh and authentic. I felt compelled to write after I read your post about inner beauty. I believe you are a beautiful girl and shouldn't change anything! All the best!!!
Annie from Hockessin, Delaware writes:
As a mother of a teen girl, I want to tell you that you are a ROLE model for young girls today in that you are beautiful, insightful, thoughtful, dedicated, loyal and filled with wonder. I applaud you, your style, your graciousness and your sense of self! Congrats, girl! You know who you are and you LOVE YOU! And we love you and your family and hope that you continue to be the shining light to girls who are bewildered with the "it" girls of the moment. Enough said!
Nick from Charlotte, North Carolina wrote:
This blog makes my day. All the wonderful videos and pictures you put up really give a more personal insight to your family. Where politics these days seems to above us all, your blog has really given Americans a more personal look at the McCain family. You all seem like great people. Even though I cannot vote yet, I look forward to volunteering for your dad this November!
Hannah from Scottsdale, Arizona writes:
Meghan, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog for the past few months. I admire not only your creativity, but also your courage for writing postings that respond not just to criticism on your father, but also your body. You are correct, young girls need role models of women at a healthy weight, but you are also providing a role model that says it is ok for women to be interested in politics, and you show that it can be fun. Women can be beautiful AND smart, and you are another example of this. I applaud your postings, pictures, and playlists - I have discovered new music! Great job Blogettes!
Sue from Bettendorf, Iowa wrote:
Meghan, Your comments on "Inner Beauty" were the best. I applaud you for reaching out to so many people and giving them honest, "straight talk" from your heart. You have the right idea when it comes to inner beauty and happiness Meghan. Your commitment to your father's campaign and your willingness to share your journey are strong attributes you should be proud of. Keep up the good work.
Heidi from Bethesda, Maryland writes:
I have been meaning to write for sometime, to let you know how much I enjoy your blog and how excited I am at the thought of your father being our President. But your recent post demanded a response. I am a 40 year old mother of two sons, who is also proud of her curves. I look at your pictures everyday and my only thought is what a beautiful family John McCain has. Never once had it crossed my mind that you needed to change a thing!!
Emily from Dallas, Texas wrote:
Good for you Meghan! You are beautiful, inside and out! And best of all - you're interesting and you have things to say. Please remember that you have a ton of people that support you and look up to you. Keep it up girl!
Cynthia from Prince George, Virginia writes:
Meghan, I was shocked to read that your weight and body shape has come into question??? Are you kidding me??? I am well past your age and have a daughter who is 23. I could not think of a better role model for her than yourself. I have always looked to you not only for your inner beauty but the beauty you possess on the outside as well. Being a role model to me also includes being a genuine human being with a compassionate heart, all of which you possess. DON'T CHANGE A THING, you are STUNNING from the inside out.
Mike from Wantagh, New York wrote:
Meghan, it's a shame that you are getting such critical remarks about your weight and body shape. I think you look beautiful as you are. The same can be said for Heather and Shannon. I've been hooked on you guys and this blog for over a month and counting. Keep up the good work. I support your site; and Meghan, I support your dad. Heck, I support the entire McCain family.
Matt and Steffi from Rye, New Hampshire writes:
Megan, As a doctor and nurse team we applaude your wonderful plea for sanity when it comes to body size. YOU ARE SO RIGHT ! Beauty comes from within. Thank you for giving many the courage to seek that beauty that they may possess and not be aware. Be healthy!
Elizabeth from Houston, Texas wrote:
I check out your blog daily, but haven't felt compelled to send you an e-mail until today. Your entry on "Inner Beauty" touched me. I'm a 5th grade teacher who has the [amazing] opportunity to see young girls on the precipice of adulthood, judge and compare themselves to a standard that has become frighteningly unrealistic. I currently have a 10-year-old student in my class who is trying to get her body "bikini ready" by spring break. Her mother has already stressed to her the "importance" of size and weight, and as a result, now has her daughter consumed with it as well. It makes me want to weep. Thanks for putting your personal twist on the subject out there. Hopefully, if we're all brave enough to continue to talk openly about what's important - who we are on the inside and how we live our lives - a little bit of respect and love for ourselves as women (of all shapes and sizes!) will have an impact on the young ladies we're raising. You're beautiful. Rock on, girl.
Mitali from Newton, Massachusetts writes:
Thank you so much for being honest in your post about body image. I am so impressed that you were vulnerable and yet at the same time managed to demonstrate the strength of responding with truth to such negativity. I am praying that Bridget, too, will have the power to ignore the idiots out there and hold on to the truth of how beautiful she is. God bless you, Meghan, as you continue to seek grace and authenticity in this challenging but exciting time for your family.
Steve from Muskegon, Michigan wrote:
Meghan, I am a 30 year old history teacher at a Catholic school up in Michigan. A group of my students are very into politics and especially, this upcoming election. Going to your blog daily is a must for them. You and the Blogettes really keep it interesting and personalize politics in a way they have never experienced. I even used your website in my class the other day! Keep up the good work and God Bless.
Rebekah from Snellville, Georgia writes:
Hi Meghan, I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed reading your blog about beauty today. I am your age and developed an eating disorder during my freshman year of college. I had always embraced my curves as well, but comments got to me and I spiraled into a life of self destruction. I am currently in recovery and learning to embrace my curves once again. The idea of beauty that is propelled by the media is an unhealthy image and something that is not attainable. I know because I've tried to attain it and couldn't. I was miserable while struggling with my eating disorder and had to see that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I think you're a wonderful role model for young women in this country. Knowing your source of happiness and fulfillment is key to staying healthy, both physically and emotionally, and you appear to be healthy in both of these areas. Thank you for speaking out and continue to stay strong.
Shawn from New York wrote:
I'm sure you are getting a million of these regarding this post, but you are beautiful on the outside as well. Stay strong and don't sweat the negative posters. You are truly gorgeous. All of the Blogette's are.
Jennifer from Yonkers, New York writes:
I discovered McCain Blogette only a few weeks ago, but I am such a huge fan already. I check back twice a day looking for new posts. You're latest post, "Inner Beauty" really hit a nerve. It is so wonderful for me to see that there really are beautiful, smart, level headed women out there that are looking to make a difference despite all the negativity and pressure that this world can place on a woman. Keep up the good work, you are certainly a role model; I know for me you are and I'm 22!
Thomas from Fredericksburg, Virginia wrote:
I read your post about "Inner Beauty" and it is inspiring to know that there are young women who are comfortable in their skin and haven't fell prey to the pressure of society's unrealistic opinion of body shape/size. I have seen you in the pictures on your site and you are perfectly lovely. Whomever it was that suggested you should change a single thing about yourself is the one who needs to change. You should be proud that you are so confident as to not only dismiss those comments, but to write about it in a public forum and speak proudly about your curves. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to hear more from you in the future!
Adriana from San Francisco, California writes:
I just found your blog today. Your Dad has a great smile that you capture so well in your pictures. Thank you for this behind-the-scenes view of his campaign. I've read numerous articles and blogs that all say how friendly he is to reporters on the campaign trail, but your blog really confirms it. Also, you love the Fratellis and 'Chelsea Dagger.' That's one of my favorite bands and favorite songs. How can I NOT vote for John McCain now that I know his daughter has amazing taste in music?
Jocelyn from Beaverton, Oregon wrote:
Thank you so much for your post about your weight. I think you are absolutely adorable. In fact, when I first went to your blog, I was pleasantly surprised to see that you're not like those whacked out Hollywood It Girls that are sticks. Your parents have obviously done a great job instilling confidence in you - and I applaud your honesty. Our family has been supporters of your dad for many years. We have great respect for his service to our country and pray that the rest of the country will agree that he his the right man to lead us for the next eight years.
Christopher from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania writes:
Very impressive blog. Thanks for sharing the behind-the-scenes look at the campaign, and your family. As a marketer, I'm very impressed with the layout of your blog/site, and the level of candor and openness you and your friends share on the site. It's a rare look into a campaign in the throws of the ups and downs of the season. I admire your father, and will be supporting him this fall. I want to wish you and your family the best during the campaign season. Also, I was surprised to read your most recent entry; anyone who made those stupid comments to you is either blind or jealous of your beauty or lifestyle. Disregard the haters, and keep up the fantastic work on the blog...you may have found your calling; in writing/marketing.
Mike from Yokosuka, Japan wrote:
I couldn't agree with your 'inner beauty' blog entry more. Always be proud of who/what you are - I'm sure your parents are; and in the end, that's what matters. My wife and I love your Blog - keep it up!

Wow, Meghan! I was blown away when I read your latest entry. I am 23 and a senior at Liberty University. I just cannot believe that anyone would say those things about you. I guess it kind of opened my eyes a bit more to the pressures that women face to look a certain way. Thanks for sharing. And for the record, when I refer to my friends to the blog I usually tell them about how the blog shows the inner workings of a campaign, getting a more personal view of your dad, great taste in music, and how beautiful Meghan McCain is!

I can't wait to cast my vote for John McCain in November!

In regards to your "Inner Beauty" post, that is ridiculous that someone would make such a comment and I applaud you for making a public statement on the issue. Leigh Ann from Dallas, Texas writes:
The post March 10th about body image may be the most important one yet. First, you are gorgeous and I'm glad you feel good about yourself. I have two daughters, 11 and 13, and this is already an issue that is so prevalent in their young lives. Everyone wants to look like the models on the runway and in magazines or be a size 0. It's crazy. As a mom, I pray for more beautiful young women like you to influence young girls and let them know that you can be fabulous and happy and gorgeous and still eat real food. Thanks for sharing this part of your life. Your blog is great!

ON 03.08.08 8:02 AM
I've been catching up on messages over the weekend and we had more submissions these last two weeks than ever before on the site. Everyone has been just phenomenal. And we've also received some great suggestions that we'll be using to improve the site in the months ahead. I can't believe where some of you are writing from. I think we got our first comments from Norway. And please keep the song suggestions coming. Last but not least, thanks to everyone who sent in such heartfelt congratulatory comments this past week after the nomination was won. I know my Dad, Mom and entire family appreciate your thoughts and kind words.
A special treat for all those who loved the BBQ photos is coming... you'll love it!
Sunny from Berkeley, California writes:
...I'm totally addicted to reading your blog... I love it. I laugh out loud when I read about your adventures on the campaign trail... It's great to see the candid behind-the-scenes moments of your dad's campaign. More than anything you read in the news, you really put the person behind the face of John McCain. No matter what party line, I think getting more people interested in politics is a wonderful thing, and you are clearly doing that for so many people with your blog.

I have been going to interviews for summer internships and it's what makes me stand out! Thank you for showing me it wasn't an impossibility! It has really been an inspiration!

What a neat idea for a blog! I've been a fan of John McCain for years, but only now have I taken a little time to learn more about his family. Meghan, you and your friends seem to strike a great balance between whimsy and class - keep on having fun, and I look forward to reading and seeing more about you all on the campaign trail!
Kirsten from Gainesville, Florida writes:
Hey! I'm a political science major at the University of Florida. Every time I read your blog it makes me want to be traveling along with all of you campaigning! I am so excited about what is to come from your father! Congrats on the GOP nom... even though we already KNEW that he is the best man for the job! :)

Trond from Stange, Norway writes:
Hi, warm greetings from a dedicated conservative and McCain-supporter in Norway! This blog is great and is now one of my regular "must read" political blogs. Your site adds an interesting "human touch" to the blogosphere and a unique "fly on the wall" behind the scenes kind of look in how campaigns are run, and how it affects the everyday life of the people right in the middle of it. Nicely done, important and innovative! Keep up the good work! You are truly a great family and John will make an outstanding President.
Ruth from Clemmons, North Carolina wrote:
Hi, Meghan and the Blogettes! CONGRATULATIONS to the straight-talkers on clinching the nomination tonight. The Politico article is correct: we all want to be Meghan's pals. Can't wait to hear your Dad's speech tonight. He's a champ and I'm looking forward to voting for him in November.
Julie from Columbus, Ohio writes:
I love your blog! It's great to see the campaign behind the scenes - I find your viewpoint so refreshing.

Okay - I've already written once, but I just have to say a SECOND time... LOVE your blog, girls! Keep up the real, unabashed perspective. Seriously - as a university faculty member and researcher, reading the blog is just a nice little relief during my very serious day!
Carlos from Cypress, Texas writes:
Keep up this awesome work. I had not heard about your site until today. I have admired your dad since I saw him speak at the Republican convention in 1988, when I was right out of college. And then I saw Hanoi Hilton and new the hero that he is. Anyway, I just wanted to say, keep up this great work. It sounds like you are having a blast on the campaign trail and I hope that you are going to be bringing your incredible enthusiasm to the White House!
Dianna from Kinston, North Carolina wrote:
I'm a college junior and I just wanted to say I support your dad 100%. Your blog just reinforces the things I respect about him, especially family values. When I see the pictures of your family grilling out I am reminded of similar times among my own family (minus the press, of course... LOL). I think this blog is a great way to reach young voters. Not to shove politics down their throats, but to make them see that politics isn't always the cut-throat arena that most seem to think. Politicians are real people too, and I think it's important for people to see the "whole picture" as far as a candidate is concerned. John McCain is a real American hero and I'm voting on election day to make sure he's the next President of this country that I love so much! Great job with the blog. Thanks for the effort you put into it! :) I know you're proud to call Senator McCain "dad."
Carol from Oakwood, Georgia writes:
Meghan, you and the other Blogettes are doing a wonderful job. Please keep it up. Following the campaign via your blog lets all of us see the human side of your Dad and everyone who travels with him.
Jessica from Brooklyn, New York wrote:
Your blog is great! It brings a little fun to all the seriousness. My daughter loves it as well and I think that you have a great way of making politics accessible for younger people and prove that you don't have to be an automotan political child to be effective- not to mention the strong role model that you have become for young women...
Hannah from Austin, Texas writes:
Hope you guys are enjoying Texas! This blog is an awesome idea and definitely gives a cool insight into the campaign trail!
Ben from Blacksburg, Virginia wrote:
I'm not really a big fan of blogs but since reading about the McCain Blogette... I have kept up with it daily. As a political science major at Virginia Tech, this has given me a different (and more attractive) perspective on politics and the campaign trail. I love your work, keep it up!
R. Joseph from Tennessee writes:
You will definitely have to get a traveling job and continue your blog. I don't think I can exist without it. Not only is your blog just the most informative, most fun, but your photos are so GREAT. ...keep up the good work. I will definitely be voting for John McCain. Your parents are so cool.
Jess from Washington, DC wrote:
I love the blog and the insider look at the campaign. I'm a hardcore Democrat who works in the biz, and I love the human element you bring to both the campaign and Republicans in general :) Also, I would like to steal your clothes. Best of luck!

LOVED your post on Cleveland and Cincinnati for many reasons: 1) No one else is covering the crazy look-a-like guy, who had clearly been waiting his whole life for that moment. 2) No one else is covering McCain hummus sightings. And I am SO looking forward to hearing about the McCain jello mold and the McCain butter sculpture that we all know you will encounter somewhere along the trail... You guys are making a very cool record of a unique moment in history - and making us laugh out loud along the way. Great work.

"Viewer Mail Volume 3"
POSTED BY MEGHAN
ON 02.24.08 11:58 PM
Recently I described how lucky I am to have the opportunities, friends and family I have. Well, you can add one more to that list: YOU. We have been blown away by the messages we've received in the last week alone. There's lots of love out there and it's so reassuring to see how many if you are so passionate about what we're doing. Anytime I need some extra energy, I just have to read the latest message and it's all there. Our entire family is so grateful for your support. There's still a lot of work ahead, but you'll be with us every step of the way. We've got some really great things we're working on and we think you'll love the journey. You guys rock!
Victor from Phoenix, Arizona writes:
The pictures from the "Lucky Girl" posting are some of the best you've put up. In particular, the ones with the hotel window. The whole sequence was great and made me laugh out loud. Though I have to admit, my favorite pic was the one with the Blogettes and CHM in front of the window. Awesome!
Donny from Baltimore, Maryland wrote:
Love your work. You give an unusually human side - dare I say "normal" side to politics, a sport that too often winds up on cable news with a dozen analysts sparring over a candidate's choice of adjective or tie. Anywho, you seem like awesome girls.
Frank from Wellington, Florida writes:
An amazing blog that really gives people a glimpse and a feeling of what goes on behind the scenes in a Presidential campaign. Also, I must admit, it has given me a higher opinion of John McCain and his family. Keep up the good work!
Melanie from Iowa wrote:
Meghan, thank you for your "Lucky Girl" blog yesterday and for "taking the high road" with such class. Your whole family, and all associated with your father's campaign, seem to know the true meaning of the word "class". Thank you for your fresh perspective on a political race which, as you stated, can be dirty and cruel. And thank you to your father for truly caring for our country.
Paige from Dallas, Texas writes:
"Lucky Girl" is a really impressive piece - even though it must be hard to deal with the criticism your dad gets your response on this one was perfect...

I am a huge McCain fan (you and your dad!) and I am so glad you posted this today. You are lucky and your family is an exceptional part of American (and world) history. Your dad has made so many outstanding contributions to this country, as has your family, and people need only look to his Hanoi experience or his life in public service to assess how truly amazing he is. Have a wonderful week Megan - you deserve it!
