"Timberlands and Townhalls" Yesterday we spent the day on the townhall circuit in New Hampshire. The first stop of the day was at the Timberland Headquarters where I helped Dad pick out some swank Timberland boots. CBS followed me and Dad around all morning and then I did an interview with them on the bus. I want to thank CBS producer Mary Hood and reporter Nancy Cordes for being really sweet and accomodating yesterday. The girls and I are off to Miami for the Univision debate on Sunday, December 9th. I couldn't be more excited to be heading toward warm weather!

Last night we attended an event with Curt Schilling in New Hampshire. It was a townhall forum where both Dad and Curt answered questions from the audience. My family has been friends with the Schillings since his days with the Diamondbacks. Curt also spoke about his "Curt's Pitch for ALS" charity that is helping to fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. You can learn more by going to www.alsa.org/schilling/pitch.cfm. He and his family are truly amazing people and I am grateful to have their support for my father and his campaign.

Cobalt Blue, Fire Engine red, and the bold glow from the light cast by cameras illuminated the MTV logos and graphics. No better forum could exist for a most unconventional candidate. Like the Senator, the setting was bold, clear and simultaneously managed to be humorous. We are fortunate to have Shannon, a most talented producer from Los Angeles, shadowing us so that we have it captured on film as well. Thank you, Shannon! This event like no other proves that our generation is eager to get involved. Before we could not help but fear that failing numbers in youth participation were a testament to a general feeling of complacency, but now we have reassessed. This a clear indication of why we cannot convey information to all audiences in the same fashion even aesthetically. Last night, when the setting and issues were relevant to the college students, their participation dramatically increased. Not only was this evident from the enthusiasm of the eager undergrads, but the poll conducted by MTV verifies it. (Be on the look out for our follow-up posting on the MTV data). After the debate Meghan was interviewed by John Norris, long time MTV journalist. The crowd also responded to the bold and open nature of the candidate's daughter. She conveyed to John how this was our favorite event, hands down, and how it showed how unscripted her father truly is. Hey, they don’t call the campaign bus THE STRAIGHT TALK EXPRESS for nothing.

"MTV Gallery"

"Planes, Trains and Rental Cars" Most days on the trail are filled with excitement so electric you can feel it in the air. Other days, like today, are spent in transit. In today's photo gallery, we're featuring the more mundane, yet necessary aspects of the campaign trail: shuttling ourselves and our luggage (no small feat) in and out of hotel rooms and to and from airplanes and cars. We left Dad in Florida this morning and flew through DC to New Hampshire where excitement is building for Dad's MTV townhall forum airing on Monday at 7 p.m. on MTV.
